Ensuring ethical practice
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to their ethical guidelines (BACP, 2018). My four years of training at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute culminated in a BACP-accredited first-class BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Staffordshire University. Working directly with a variety of clients, I have built a strong foundation of experience, enriching my practice and enhancing my ability to provide effective, compassionate support.
I am dedicated to maintaining high professional standards and continually building my skills to meet the diverse needs of my clients. In my practice, I focus on creating a safe and ethical environment by following the codes of ethics and professional practice set out by BACP and the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI). I also make sure my work complies with UK law to support my clients effectively.
To promote continual growth and align with ethical practice, I prioritise client and self-care by engaging in ongoing supervision and personal therapy with BACP registered and accredited practitioners.

Having fulfilled the required criteria, the practitioner Leanne Banks is considered by the Society to be safe, competent and ethical to practise the vocation of counselling and is thus recorded on the Society Register with Accredited Membership and the designation MNCPS (Acc.) NCS24-05859.
